MENTORING

I've been blessed to release over 300+ tracks on many of my favourite Drum & Bass labels (Spearhead, Hospital, Metalheadz to name a few), and decided to open up my studio and invite students to be mentored via the magic of Skype.

Having spent over a decade struggling to piece together the fundamentals before finishing music to a professional standard, I've been through what

many of you have and will go through in your pursuit of achieving your musical goals and dreams.

I've mentored over 50+ students since 2017 and am fortunate to say many have gone onto release music on their choice of record labels.

Pricing:

1 x £55

5 x £247.50 (10% Discount)

SESSIONS

The sessions are run over Skype, usually for 1 hour, where I share my screen and audio with you, and discuss topics using Logic X, although all topics and techniques translate easily to other DAW's.

I build the lesson around music you've sent prior to the session. This way I can customise the lesson plan and focus on areas that need the most attention.

After the session I'll send a follow up email with session notes and action points.

There is no minimum or maximum amount of sessions you can book, I like to cultivate a relaxed atmosphere where we can both communicate in order to work towards any goals you have set.

Available session times:

Monday to Friday 10:30 and 13:30

Wednesday/Thursday 19:30 (all UK times)

TESTIMONIALS

Dane (High Frequency)

"From analysing my music and identifying areas where I could improve Drew was able to show me what I needed to do to take my music to a professional standard. His insights and experience he shared with me from within the industry were fascinating, and on top of all of this he’s just a sound bloke to spend an hour chatting all things music."

Dan (DPR)

Future Retro/Spearhead Records

"Having lessons with Drew is one of the best investments I have made to improve my music production. The lessons are well structured, focusing on the key areas where improvements can be made, which Drew supports by giving insight into his own finished and released projects. Drew is a fantastic teacher and breaks things down in terms that are easy to understand. If you want to improve your music by learning from one of the best in the game then I can’t recommend Drew highly enough!"

"Even as a total beginner Villem quickly had me finishing songs and sending out demos, and it wasn't long until I started releasing on my favorite labels. Two years later, Villem continues to provide valuable insight and guidance as I continue my journey as a Drum and Bass artist."

“I really can’t stress this enough, Drew was absolutely integral to me kickstarting my musical career. His endless knowledge of production techniques, his exceptional musicality across all styles and his consistent and detailed feedback were the building blocks I needed to learn how to put all the pieces together. Without his guidance and encouragement I would still be stuck on a 16 bar loop losing my mind!”

"My sessions with Drew were invaluable, his relaxed and flexible teaching style made me super comfortable. His feedback was always honest but encouraging, always looking to bring out the best in my music. It was definitely the turning point for me in my career, his support helped me move from being someone who could make okay tunes to a producer making songs that were finally ready to release."

"I was lucky enough to have a few of these sessions with Villem. Couldn't have been more helpful! He would help me in mixing down a few of my tracks, and whenever he gave a suggestion on what to change, the result would be incredible. Every time, without fail, the problem would be sorted and the track would sound much cleaner!

I strongly recommend you have one of these sessions! Having released on so many different labels, he'll be able to help you out with almost any subgenre of the DnB scene."

"Having known Drew for 10 years now, he was my first choice for some Drum & Bass mentoring. What struck me most about Drew’s sessions was how calm he is, as well as patient and keeps things really nice and simple.
He doesn’t force you into this whirlwind of words and visuals on a screen, he is methodical and sensible, which makes it possible to retain what you learn rather than be left scratching your head afterwards.
I also really appreciate how Drew takes time to work out what you need to learn, rather than you telling him. He will listen to your tracks and have you focus on aspects he believes are integral to your craft.
The sessions had me zoning into what I actually needed to know, rather than what I thought I needed to know."

"I would highly recommend doing lessons with Villem. If you are serious about music production, I think it's important to have someone qualified critique your work. This way, you can take an idea to the next level and also learn new skills in the process.

Doing these lessons has opened my mind to many new ways of doing things and taken my tunes to another level. This has helped to get DJs like Ray Keith playing my music and getting releases out on labels such as Kniteforce."

Guy (Tempral)
"Regular sessions with Villem have brought improvements to many key areas including arrangement, drum processing, mixdowns and fine tuning my overall process. Critical feedback is key to progress and this is exactly what i get when i have a session with Drew.  Highly recommended.
With Drew's guidance I have had my music played by Loxy."

"Having attended several masterclasses with top tier DnB producers, when Drew reached out to me after one of his masterclasses about 1:1 mentoring it was a no brainer. Fan’s on Villem already know how top notch his productions are and broad his musical talents and abilities to be. When I started the sessions there was a seed of something in my work, but it wasn’t release quality – this quickly changed through Drew’s attentive and insightful advice, technique and perspective. Never shy to focus on what isn’t working (and why, and how to fix) as well as praise and encourage to lean into aspects that are working. Like many new producers I found that I was too distracted by technique over creativity. Drew has been able to guide, encourage and give me confidence in my work to the point where I’m regularly releasing on labels that I could have only dreamt about. Drew doesn’t ever do the work for you, which is entirely correct in my view, but he skilfully shows you how to get there and be consistent.

If you’re an aspiring producer, could you get to where you want to be without mentoring of this quality? Perhaps, but I can say for sure it’ll take you a lot longer and you’ll probably go through all the pitfalls on your own that everyone finds and struggle against confidence gremlins. With Drew these issues aren’t removed, but rather you have his careful guidance and support to overcome them.

To make it all the better Drew is a top bloke of the highest order, sessions were always simply good fun!"

Alex Craig (Them Lot)
"From the very first session my mind set changed completely and I have become so inspired by our chats.  I grow in confidence after every one and all of this has pushed me to become very focused on my music.  From the very start my productions took on a whole new life and under his guidance I have been able to develop so much.  Drew is such a down to earth person and most importantly it's just great fun to discuss everything from music production, the scene, music and life in general at times with him."
